The 2017 season of Rhythm in Rice, presented by B Horst Productions, kicks off June 9th!

2016 was the inaugural year of the Rhythm in Rice series and BHP is proud to be bringing back another summer of international inspired shows!  RiR has 2 main goals to use music as the thread to unite the multi-cultural communities of the Twin cities and to seek corporate unity through combining support of many of the large companies located in downtown St. Paul.  We are proud to say that we are on track to achieve these goals.

Global Sounds from the Local Scene

A Community Event for All

How it Started

In 2015, Brian was approached about hosting a series in Rice Park.  Having seen the positive impact and community growth that has happened over the past 12 years in the Mears Park residential and business community, he is excited to see the impact a summer long series could make in the Rice Park community over the coming years.  The series seeks to use music as the thread that will weave together the multi cultural communities throughout the Twin Cities and to fuse these styles together for 11 weeks of great rhythms.

NEW for 2017…BHP has teamed up with 2 great weekend festivals Twin Cities Jazz Fest (June) and Lowertown Blues and Funk Fest (July).  These partnerships have inspired the programming for the  June and July shows.  June will feature international sounds of jazz, July will feature international sounds of Blues and August will feature sounds of Reggae and Roots!

THANK YOU to Pippi Ardennia (PipJazz Foundation) and Andre Fischer (Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project) for setting up a great schedule of amazing Artists!  A portion of proceeds from all beer and cider sales will be donated to support their NPO missions!

Located in the beautiful and historical Rice Park!

Show Your Support

While we love bringing these free shows to the lowertown community, we spend a great deal of time and energy into gathering sponsors and writing grants to cover the band and operating budget. We ask that you to consider making a tax deductible contribution through an online fundraising site on Razoo. Every dollar makes a big impact on the grassroots series and we appreciate the support!
